The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade is a not-for-profit business trade association established in 1952 to foster trade, commerce and interest in the specialty food industry. It is an international organization composed of domestic and foreign manufacturers, importers, distributors, brokers, retailers, restaurateurs, and others in the specialty foods business. The organization has more than 2,600 current member companies throughout the U.S. and overseas. The NASFT's activities and programs include: 1) International Fancy Food & Confection Shows - NASFT founded and has sponsored these well-attended, well-regarded shows since 1955. They are considered the premier marketplace for reaching the specialty food trade - tens of thousands of buyers see, taste and sample over 50,000 fine specialty food products. Attendees are from specialty food, wine, gift and department stores, supermarkets, restaurants, mail order and other related businesses. Shows are held annually in 3 places - Summer, Winter, and Spring on the East Coast, West Coast, and Chicago yearly. 2) Specialty Food Magazine - delivers actionable information that retailers, distributors, and other quality-driven professionals can put to work to improve their businesses - uncovering new product information, identifying trends, profiling retailers of excellence, or providing practical business insight from forward-thinking experts in the industry.
